Q) What steps should I take to prepare for my massage?
A) Make sure you have plenty of time to relax both before and after your massage and always drink plenty of water. Massages help to flush toxins from your system, so being properly hydrated will help.
Q) Is there anything I should avoid doing right before the massage?
A) It is advised not to eat right before your massage and avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours in advance.
Q) Does it make more sense to exercise before or after a massage?
A) It is recommended working out before hitting the massage table. When you work out, your body releases lactic acid. Getting a massage after will help move that out of your body faster.
Q) What else should I avoid doing after my massage?
A) Avoid any strenuous activity for at least 24 hrs after to allow the body to relax and gain full benefit of your treatment also be sure to drink your morning coffee before, not after as your body will react to the caffeine after a massage and it can tense the muscles just worked on, so its best avoided, try herbal tea or water instead.
Q) What are some of the things that clients get embarrassed about and shouldn’t?
A) Many clients feel self-conscious about their weight or body shape but rest assured that these concerns as a therapist and trained professional are not an issue. I am more focused on muscle and tension as well as those knotted areas that are begging to be melted away so fear not as we are all unique as individuals.
Oh, and hairy back guys as well as other body hair isn’t a problem as we can remove this if you prefer, I have a range of body wax treatments for intimate and non-intimate areas including full body grooming for those wishing to keep things in check. Just ask for details on pricing.
Q) Do I need to be completely naked for my massage?
A) When it comes to disrobing that is entirely up to you.
Q) What is considered rude or inconsiderate?
A) Last-minute cancellations or no-shows as this is a major source of frustration for any therapist, I always kindly ask that for whatever reason please try where possible to give a least 24 hours cancellation notice as we do get busy and someone else can benefit from that appointment slot and of course proper hygiene is appreciated. That doesn’t mean you have to scrub yourself raw, but a quick shower is appreciated.
Q) Do you feel under pressure to make small talk during your treatment?
A) Not feeling chatty? No problem. It’s totally okay to stay quiet or even fall asleep during your massage. If you feel so relaxed, you don’t feel like talking then just let me know the state of the treatment which areas of your body needs attention before we begin.
